Facebook chat on messenger now available in 7 more countries

With the release of final version of Windows Live Essentials 2011, Facebook chat on Windows Live messenger is now available in 7 more countries- Canada, Australia, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, India, and Turkey.Already 27.8 million users in United States, United Kingdom, France, Brazil, Germany, and Russia have been using Facebook chat since August 2010 when Beta refresh of Windows Live Essentials 2011 was released.

If you do choose to turn on Facebook chat and updates in Messenger, those features are also available to you from other places you connect to Messenger, like from your Hotmail inbox, or from the Messenger iPhone or Zune HD app.

The Windows Live blog states that they would be introducing Facebook chat in other countries as soon as possible.

Windows Live Messenger,3 new games now available on Zune HD

After the release of Windows Live Essentials 2011,Microsoft has released Windows Live Messenger app for Zune HD.Earlier Microsoft has released the Windows Live messenger app for iPhone. Similar to the iPhone app,this app let you keep up with social sites and chat via Windows Live or Facebook.Messenger for the Zune HD also displays what you’re listening to just likes the Zune media player does when signed in to Messenger on a Windows PC.

The Zune HD team has also released three new games namely WordMonger, Castles and Cannons, Dr. Optics.

As stated by us earlier,the final version of Windows Live Essentials 2011 has been released and is available for download.Windows Live Essentials 2011 pack includes Windows Live Mail, Messenger, Movie Maker, Writer, Microsoft Silverlight , Bing Bar, Outlook Connector Pack , Messenger Companion , Windows Live Mesh, Sync, and Family Safety.

Microsoft set to release Windows live essentials 2011 later today!!

Today Microsoft is set to release the final version of Windows live essentials 2011. This new version will include updates of Windows Live Movie Maker, Mail, Writer, Sync, and Family Safety and is also designed to take advantage of Windows 7 fully. These programs will also all have Microsoft’s ribbon feature included in them (as in Microsoft Office and Windows 7′s Paint). Windows Live Sync is also included which keeps your files synchronized on the web and across multiple PCs.

Windows Live Spaces shutting down, migrating to WordPress

Today at the TechCrunch Disrupt, Microsoft announced that they are shutting down Windows Live spaces and would be migrating to wordpress.com.

Windows Live Spaces users can migrate their blogs to WordPress.com within the next six months.To make this easier, the wordpress team has created a brand new importer for Windows Live Spaces to WordPress.com.Though new Windows Live users will be offered a WordPress.com blog when they choose to create a new blog.Thought the new Windows Live users would be offered a wordpress.com blog when they choose to create a new blog on the web. And when Windows Live Essentials 2011 releases later this fall, Windows Live Writer will also use WordPress.com as its default blogging solution.

Windows Live Essentials 2011 RC to be available on 9th September

After 2 Beta releases,Microsoft is preparing to release the RC version of Windows Live Essentials 2011. According to the Geeksmack this version would be available for download on 9th September.

According the the source,the RC version would have the following updates-

The installer will now contain the Windows Live essentials 2011 logo and overall UI has been improved.
The Refresh button has been added to the social stream.
The installation/upgradation process has been optimized to increase performance

Apparently the latest build number is 15.4.3119.0902 and the beta tag has been removed as tweeted by sp3ciali5t , though there is no confirmation regarding the same.
