[Rumor] Windows 8 To be Released in the Month of October !

For what we all know at the moment is that Windows 8 is coming in the second  half of 2012.Talking about more specific dates,if we have a look at the history of launches from Microsoft,October has always been one of the favorite spot to bring in new product,be it Windows 7,be it Window Phone 7.

To add some more to the recent history is a recent report by Pocket-Lint,as while talking with  Janelle Poole, director of public relations of the Windows Business Group, said:

“We haven’t talked about the release date and we generally don’t. We are talking milestone to milestone, so for us right now we’re talking about the next milestone being the consumer preview happening in late February.

“One of the things that I think is a good guideline though is we’ve always said that Windows releases come round about every three years and this year will be three years in October since we launched Windows 7. So I think that’s a good guideline to consider.”

So with the manufacturers also lining up their Windows 8 based ultrabooks and tablets during the similar timeline, this might very well turn out to be a fact. We’ll keep an eye on the release of Windows 8,Watch this space for more Windows 8 Scoop.

Windows 8 may RTM in April 2012

We have earlier reported that Windows 8 would be released in 2012. Today reports are coming via Mary Jo foley that Windows 8 may RTM by April 2012. Earlier Steve Ballmer reported that Windows 8 would be released next year.

She also reported that the beta version of Windows 8 would be available during Build and not the preview or pre Beta build. According to her the RTM version of Windows 8 for x86, Windows 8 for ARM/SoC (system on a chip) and Windows 8 Server would be released at the same time. Further as already known Microsoft would be releasing two beta versions of Windows 8 and one RC version of Windows 8 would be released somewhere around January 2012. We have already seen the leaked Dell Roadmap stating that Windows 8 tablet would be released in first quarter of 2012 and so the early April release seems to be plausible.

Microsoft is going to hold Worldwide Partners conference next month and we expect Microsoft to show Windows 8 during the conference. Further according to our sources Microsoft would started working on Windows 8 beta stage soon.

Windows 8 release date hinted by Microsoft Executive

We have earlier reported the Windows 8 would be released in late 2012, today Dan’l Lewin the corporate vice president for strategic and emerging business development at Microsoft today hinted when speaking at the start-up LAUNCH event at the Microsoft Silicon Valley campus that Windows 8 would be released in Autumn 2012 .

Here is what Lewin said-

We will be in market – if you look at the crystal ball and just say what happened in the past is a reasonable indicator of what our forward looking timelines will be and just speculate – we’ve made the point about having a developer conference later this year, and then typically we enter a beta phase, and then in 12 months we’re in the market, so let’s make that assumption.

Microsoft is organizing Build in September 2011 where they would be showing next version of Windows and most probably at that time Windows 8 Beta would be launched, so exactly after a year that is in September 2012 we can see the RTM version of Windows 8, which is exactly 3 years after Microsoft RTMed Windows 7.

Ballmer says next version of Windows would be released in 2012

We already have information that Microsoft would be releasing next version of Windows in 2012, but for the first time Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer mentioned about it at the Microsoft Developer Forum which was recently held in Tokyo. The company officials were refraining to call next version as Windows 8, but the Ballmer’s transcript clearly mentioned about it. Here is what the transcript reads-

We’re obviously hard at work on the next version of Windows. Windows 7 PCs will sell over 350 million units this year. We’ve done a lot in Windows 7 to improve customer satisfaction. We have a brand new user interface. We’ve added touch, and ink, and speech. And yet, as we look forward to the next generation of Windows systems, which will come out next year, there’s a whole lot more coming. As we progress through the year, you ought to expect to hear a lot about Windows 8. Windows 8 slates, tablets, PCs, a variety of different form factors.

Today Microsoft will stop selling Windows XP to PC manufacturers and the aftermarket sales of Windows Vista. For Windows 7, Microsoft Service Pack 1. This service pack is still in the testing phase and is expected in the first half of next year available. The first update of Windows 7 is the new version of Windows Live Essentials (explore.live.com) became available in mid-June. Furthermore, Microsoft is of course the next version of Windows.
