[Rumor]Microsoft Working On Core Single Language SKU

A few days ago we reported about a rumored Country Based Windows 8 SKU for China being prepared by Microsoft.Now it seems like that is not the only new SKU coming with Windows 8.

According to Winunleaked.tk a new SKU named CoreSingleLanguageEdition and branded as Windows 8 Core Single Language is being preparedby Microsoft.

Though at this moment there are not so much detailing about this particular build,some of the noticeable things are

  • LPKSetup also is present(as of now)
  • Unlike the earlier  CoreCountrySpecific  (Windows 8 for China)SKU, this can be installed on any localized build.
  • Media Center is Missing from this build.

Since the work is still in progress for this build as well as many other SKU’s for Windows 8,we can see some more feature added or removed by the next iterations of the builds.The Release Candidate Build is rumored to be released by the Month of May or Early June.

The title might feel somewhat strange but that might very well turn out to be true.As Winunleaked is exploring some of the supposedly leaked builds of different SKU’s from past few days as we reported earlier about the Windows 8 Pro SKU.

This time around they are reporting about a Country Specific SKU i.e Windows 8 China SKU.This special SKU  is reportedly being custom made for china would probably be a cheaper version of Windows 8 which will help fight against the piracy of Windows 8 after the release.

According to Winunleaked this version  can be installed only with Chinese ISO,if you try out the English one then you would get the Blue Screen of Death error stating Bad MUI.In this SKU there are no pre-pinned applications in the taskbar,LPKSetup is however still present,which may allow allow the users to  install other Language Packs,Media Center is also absent.

Though these are the initial builds for the SKU,we can expect changes to this version along with the change in name of the SKU.Stay Tuned for more Windows 8 Scoop.
