Gartner Predicts 4.1 Percent Marketshare for Windows 8 Tablet By The End Of 2012

Windows 8  tablets are expected to be released along with the release of Windows 8 this holiday season.With all the biggies preparing for the big launch of windows 8.The main target this time around is the tablet segment which will feature a new competitor for iOS and Android based tablets in Windows 8 with Metro UI.

Gartner recently posted a report about what will be the future of the tablet market post the release of Windows 8.According to them by the end of this year there will be a whopping 119 million tablets sold for the year 2012 which is 98 percent of last years tablet sells.

iOS is expected to hold its number one position with 61 percent of marketshare while android will take the second spot with approximately 32 percent marketshare and he new entrant Windows 8 tablet would get approximately 4 percnt of marketshare by the end of its first quarter(end of 2012) and by the year 2016 Windows 8 tablet marketshare  would reach approximatelt to a 12 percent marketshare.The IT departments would favor the upcoming tablets based on Windows 8 platform since the familiarity with the Windows platform.

So not only the end users even the enterprise users will favor he Windows 8 tablet segment mostly because of its familiarity of the conventional windows operating systems as well as for the highly optimized Metro UI.

Gartner’s Prediction:WP7 to overtake iPhone by 2015

It’s raining predictions,from past few weeks 2-3  technology research companies have been releasing the reports about what they feel is going to be the future of the Smart Phone market in the near future(2015-16).Firstly it was IDC which predicted that Android would take over most of the mobile phone market with Windows Phone 7 being the second best leaving behind the iOS .

A while later another company predicted that it would require a great  performance from Microsoft’s WP7 platform to even gain a 7% market-share by the year 2014 in spite of the new Nokia-Microsoft deal and now ,which is quite a contradictory  one to what IDC predicted.

Now latest in the prediction war is Gartner,which is predicting success for Windows Phone 7 as well ,just  like IDC.Predicting 48.8 % market-share for Android by the year 2015 and Windows Phone 7 to be the 2nd best with 19.5% market-share by the year 2015 and iOS being the third best here as well.
