Microsoft VDI to be further improved in Windows 8

According to the new job post on Microsoft careers website, Microsoft now wants to take virtualized desktop infrastructure (VDI) to the next level with different roles like Remote Desktop Web Access (RDWA), Remote Desktop Connection Broker (RDCB), RemoteApp and Desktop Publishing (RADC), Remote Desktop Virtualization (RDV) and Remote Desktop Publishing.

Recently there were rumors that the next version would be called Windows Next. After the breakage of news regarding the next operating system, MS stopped calling it as Windows 8 even on various job posts relating the next OS. Though a knowledge Base article posted on the Microsoft support site on 6th April 2010 clearly states that the next version of Windows is going to be called Windows 8.

Microsoft has announced that this year’s Windows Summit would be held from 25th to 27th May at the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond. Though there are reports that the next Operating system (Windows 8 ) would not be the agenda of the summit.

Windows 8, will be a cloud based OS

The post on the NDTV Profit news channel site clearly states that according to the sources within Microsoft,the next Operating System will be cloud based. Rajan Anandan, MD of Microsoft India also added that “All new products from here on will be offered over the cloud, as well as on-premise. That’s a core strategy that we have adopted now”
