Microsoft launched the Surface RT based tablet last month along with the release of Windows 8.The RT version was running Windows RT operating system tailored for ARM based devices.
The Intel based version of Surface i.e the Surface Pro which we already know is slated for release in January 2013 has just got the official price tag.The 64GB version of Surface Pro(Standalone) would cost you $899 while the 128GB version would cost you around one grand!($999). The device will be powered by the Intel core i5 processor. This pricing does not include the Touch Cover so those who want to opt for that would have to spend a few bucks more for their touch/type cover.
Surface Pro will support Pen Input,it would sport a Full HD resolution Display with 16:9 aspect ratio. The device also features a USB 3.0 port.while its Mini DisplayPort can drive an external display up to 2560X1440 resolution.
One of the most important things about the Surface Pro is that, unlike its smaller brother the Pro version would support all the legacy apps (so you can run your Windows 7 apps on Surface).
The initial response for the RT version of surface has been good, with some of the stores going out of stock from a few hours of its launch. So we can expect a similar trend with the Surface Pro release.
