Microsoft launched Windows 8 operating system yesterday,but if you haven’t noticed some of the changes in the operating system yet,you might not have come across the missing Windows Media Center from your operating system.

With the launch of Wndows 8 Microsoft made the Windows Media Center as an Add On feature which can be purchased for a price of $10.But if you happened to have a Windows 8 Pro license you can avail the free Windows Media Center Add On from October 26th to 31st January 2013.

So if you have a Windows 8 Pro license,here’s what you need to do,

First of all,head to the Windows 8 Feature Packs Page and request your free Product Key for Windows Media Center,then follow these steps,

 

1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.

   (If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, and then click Search.)

2. Enter add features in the search box, and then tap or click Settings .

3. Tap or click Add features to Windows 8 and then do one of the following:

   • If you need to purchase a product key, tap or click I want to buy a product key online.

     You will be prompted through the steps to buy a product key from there and it will be entered for you.

   • If you already have a product key, tap or click I already have a product key.

4. Enter your product key and click Next.

5. Read the license terms, select the check box to accept the license terms, and then click Add features.
