Finally after many a months in the waiting ,the newest operating system from the software giant and successor to the ever so popular Windows 7 which crossed 640 million licenses till date,Windows 8 has finally reached the general availability milestone today.

In a recently concluded event at New York,Microsoft announced the General Availability of Windows 8 and the hardware devices from various manufacturers like Dell,HP,samsung,Lenovo,Asus,Acer and of course their very own Surface RT tablet.
The Windows 8 upgraded will be available for downloads starting from 12:01 AM local time in more than 140 markets with as many as 34 languages from windows.com.
The retail version will be available across the retail stores in two flavours Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro ,with special edition of Windows 8 Enterprise available for the Organizations.
Along with Windows 8,its younger brother Windows RT also hit the general availability courtesy various tablets from manufacturers like Asus,Dell and Microsoft,which can not only run the Office 2013 suite but the apps from Windows Store as well.
As we already know there are some exciting upgrade offers for The users,with existing XP,Vista and Windows 7 license users can upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $39.99 through 31st january 2013 and eligible consumers who have ought a new Windows 7 PC after June 2 2012,can upgrade their PC’s to Windows 8 Pro for $14.99 till 31st January 2013.
