Windows 8 RTM ISO Activation Server Blocked and Up Again !

It’s been a week since Microsoft released Windows 8 to the manufacturers and within the very first week of RTM we have been hearing reports about the leaked copes of Windows 8 RTM floating around the web.

According to some of the recent posts over MDL forums, the  Russian KMS (key Management Server) which was allowing the activations of Windows 8 RTM,the server was taken offline, but before that happened it already activated hundreds of ISO copies and within hours of the server blockage, the server is up again and readily activating the copies.

So it was only matter of ours for the blocked server to start all over again.Microsoft might have to take some strong actions and try to fix any such vulnerabilities before some more users try and activate their devices illegally over the server, before Windows 8 hits The Public release which is  scheduled  on 26th October.

It’s a very good MS OS and in my opinion one of the best ones! For the times being.

Whoo whoo! You are right. However according to the prophecitic pattern, it is not.
      Windows 1=Good. 2=Not 3=Good 95=Not 98=Good 2000=Not XP=Good Vista = Not 7=Good 8=Not?
I think it is good for the tablet industry, and I like the OS overall, but we must fall back on the prophecetic pattern.

windows 1 was not good. Windows 95 was the most popular OS to date and was considered very good for its time. Windows 2000 was VERY popular and many people even skipped XP and only used 2000.
So this “prophecetic pattern” of yours is not looking so good..

Your maybe only right in a purely consumer sense, but Windows XP has been probably the most adopted Microsoft OS in history. 2000 actually felt alot like vista in performance and number of people using it. I HIGHLY doubt anyone skipped XP to stick with windows 2000. If anyone did, you included since its your idea, your all idiots.

Whoo Whoo! Well actually, 8 will be available for download in September, if what I read is correct. The 26th is the GA, which is basically the full release when everything is finalized. Windows 8 isn’t ready for release, but they shouldn’t let it be activated yet. The manufacturers should get a few product keys for testing their product, however they do not need to connect to a activation server to test their software.

RTM is the final copy given to manufacturers(OEM) to install on their machine and be ready with their line up of desktops and laptops on 26th october worldwide(release date for consumers)

I personally think Win 8 finally has many WOW fators over apple. As a developer I am excited about Metro Style apps. As a user I am excited about simplicity of the OS.
