The new set of screenshots have now surfaced over the web featuring the Windows 8 build 843x.In this build as we can see from the Screenshots above the conventional Windows Explorer has been renamed to File Explorer.Apart from that change there is nothing much of a noticeable difference in this build and if the rumors are right about the Windows 8 RTM build being the 8500 series, then we can expect some more changes down the road.

We have already seen the removal of the Start Button in Windows 8 which is a major change from all the previous versions of Windows operating system, which already has faced some criticism from the enthusiasts, but there are some new features like the Charm Bar and the Start Screen which are optimized for touch as well as non touch based user interactions.

As the release dates for RTM gets closer and closer we can expect some more leaks in coming days which might indicate some changes in the successive builds.Stay Tuned for more Windows 8 Coverage.

Possible Windows 8 RTM Leak in Mid to late July? Who Agrees With me?

I swear, the state windows 8 is in now and the shear amount of problems in the os better be fixed by release. im not just talking about the non lauching metro apps or occasional crash, i am  talking about totally absent features such as a metro file explorer and lack of customisation (not really expecting this one. i like how the new os is especially using a full feature metro browser (chrome) and my desktop for everything else, i can see that it might not be too bad. I do really want to try metro office too to complete the circuit.
but again i dont like how microsoft chose to scrape on features for just eye candy

Microsoft’s decision to implement Metro was in no means to provide eye candy. Its very complicated but in simple terms, Microsoft is trying to create a connected ecosystem. As for file explorer for Metro, it has one.

As far as aesthetics this OS has completely lost focus. They’ve stuck this Metro interface on top of an existing visual theme. Then completely stripped down the existing theme in a poor attempt to create some visual harmony. All this has done is create a base experience that looks flat and primitive on a proper desktop display. Add in the fact, if this screenshot is indicative, they are still using the ancient desktop icons from previous Windows versions.

I hope that as we near the final version that all these issues are addressed but at this stage I think Windows 8 is going to be a disaster!

File Browser would sound a little nicer than explorer

I disagree. I think File Explorer sounds better because they also have Internet Explorer, which has a similar name. It’s good to see some consistency in this OS.

If they would only make the whole operating system have a consistent metro style (instead of a mashup of Windows 7 and Metro), Windows 8 might just be successful. I am hoping they get to this by RTM. Maybe this is going too far, but why don’t they just remove the Desktop? I like my wallpapers but the Desktop just seems unnecessary.
