The Microsoft Surface Tablets were announced at an event earlier this week,the first of its kind of tablets manufactured by Microsoft.

At the event Microsoft revealed some of the specifications of the tablets,not getting into the detailed specifications,so far we know that there will be two variants of tablets,One with the ARM based processors featuring Windows RT version and the other with the x86 based processor featuring Windows 8 Pro version.

Recently Bloomberg got a tip from two people who are familiar to the Surface Tablet,who told them that Initially the Surface tablet would be available in WiFi Only model,though the exact details are yet to be made public,but keeping in mind the current tablet market which has a huge share of WiFi only tablets be it the iPad or any other tablet for that matter.

One more thing which will encourage the WiFi only segment is the price point,since it will be priced on a lower side as compared to the 3G version of the same.So it won’t be a surprise if this turns out to be true.Then again we don’t have a official word on this,but we can expect the detailed specifications sometime near the release date.
