Qualcomm who is one of the major hardware partners for Windows RT based devices which will be released later this year along with the release of Windows 8.With the announcement of Windows 8 Microsoft also announced the Windows Store which will feature the Metro based apps.

So to lure the developers who are the most important people to make the Windows Store a success,not just Microsoft but even their partners are trying every trick of the trade.Recently Qualcomm announced a Windows Metro App Contest for the developers,which consists of over 200,000$ and Marketing support of the applications for the winning apps in the contest.

There will be four categories for which developers can build their apps,like Productivity,Peer-to-Peer,Gaming and Connectivity.The application can be a fully developed app ready to run or it can even be a Prototype.

The best overall app will get a prize of 100,000 $,amongst the other categories best Connectivity use case,Gaming and Productivity app would fetch a prize money of  20,000$ each.While there is a special prize money of 40,000$ for the app which would make the best use of AllJoyn Framework.

The contestants can register the entry of their apps during 27th June to 1st October 2012.The judging will be done from 2nd October to 15th October 2012 and the Final Winners Will be announced on 18th October.
