Over the past couple of days the blogosphere was buzzing with the speculations of the much anticipated and mysterious Microsoft event which was to be held on Monday.
We reported last week that Microsoft is planning to debut their first manufactured tablet and that’s what pretty much happened at the event yesterday.
The Surface Tablet will be released in two flavors,The usual x86 based Intel Processor will feature Windows 8 Pro version and the ARM version which will sport a processor made by Nvidia.
As you can see from the image above which compares the two versions of the surface tablet,while the ARM version will be on a lighter and slimmer side with 676 g and 9.3mm thick the Intel based surface will be 903 g with 13.5mm thickness.
Talking about the screen size,both will feature a 10.6″ Clear Type Display,while the ARM version will be HD ready,the Intel version will sport a Full HD resolution.Storage capacity for the ARM version will be 32GB and 64GB and for Intel version it will be 64GB and 128GB.The surface tablets will feature a kickstand as well as a cover will be released which will also feature a touch based keyboard and will connect to the tablet with magnetic connector,making it the smart cover alternative of the iPad.
The Windows RT version of Surface will be available along with the release of Windows 8 while people who are interested in buying the x86 version would have to wait for another 3 months after the public release of Windows 8 final version.
Pricing details will be announced closer to availability and they will be competitively priced taking into consideration the pricing for existing tablets in the market.
