HP’s Upcoming Windows 8 Tablet Spotted in the Wild !

For what we all know that there are many biggies planning for their version of Windows 8 Tablet, one of them is HP.Though we didn’t get any details on the Tablet specifications from any of the companies.

Now as reported earlier by Neowin, from their trusted sources who has got their hands on a leaked slide which reveals the details on the upcoming Tablet from HP.

So according to the details from the leaked slide, the Tablet HP Slate 8 will  sport a x86 based processor, will be 9.2mm thin(thinner than the New iPad,will sport a 10.1 ” Capacitive Screen, along with 8-10 hours of battery life. The tablet is targeted for business users hence ARM is missing from the scene.

Though at this moment this goes in the rumor department, since the slide may or may not turn out to be a true affair, but by the looks of it,it seems like iPad is really going to have a tough competition this time around with the release of Windows 8 Tablets. It would be interesting to see what price tags do these devices get,and due to this intense rivalry between the two biggest platforms,it would be a win win situation as far as the common man goes.

Great tablet. Ipad and especially Android tablets are going to have it real difficult with 32 different W8 tablets in the market. Yes, I’ve said it time after time, W8 will kill the tabelt market for Ipad and Android tablets, since it’s an tablet and PC in one. If W8 is sold at the right price point Apple and Android tablets don’t stand a chance. Apple might balk at the integration between tablet and PC, but it’s the future that enterprises and a lot of consumers are waiting for. Tablets are mainly used for entertainment and maybe after a few months aren’t used at all. The combination of tablet and PC will greatly improve user time and functionality of tablets-PC. The appeal for the consumer is also greater. If everybody or company using Windows PC, decide to replace their PC (Vista or W7) with a W8 tablet-PC, Microsoft will be selling 500 million W8 tablet-PC’s a year. Even if they sold half in the first 3 years it would be 250 million tablet PC’s. Tha’t's almost as much as what is sold at the moment. Gogo softly Micro

Can you please start typing correctly? All the stuff on this site has bad English. You also don’t put SPACES between words after a full stop or comma, it’s annoying!

Rikikrik has a good point however price is VERY important. Most people probably dont see microsoft as a possible competitor for an iphone or android because are in the mind that windows=pc. hopefully the devices are not super expensive like the first highend android tablets, and the only affordable ones are so power starved they are a waste of space.

Thanks Megamit. A lot of people do not realize that there are a lot of companies flexing their muscles to bring W8 to the enterprise and the consumers. Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, Samsung, HTC, Asus, Huawei, Nokia, LG and not to mention Intel among others. Intel is pouring more than 3 billion to make Ultrabooks running W8 (and their own processors) a big succes. Mobile and PC Vendors are going to push the price level down to compete with the Ipad and take market share. The winner will be the consumer, that’s a great tradeoff for us. If it’s true that Apple products have a high price point, Apple will feel the price pressures of W8 products, that’s for sure. Google with Android has a great security problem and cannot match up to the integrated ecosystem of Windows. Don’t forget that Microsoft also have a lot of products for enterprises and business (like CRM etc) that are part of or integrated in the ecosystem. W8 will only get better and the Ipad is too limited to compete with a tablet PC like W8. We shall see, but Micfrosoft is known to come from behind and surpass competitors. Where is Nintendo with the Wii and Sony with the PS3 compared with the Xbox??? Integration of the Xbox with windows phones, TV (channels, video, films etc), Apps, Bing, Kinect and soon W8, is key to appeal to a greater audience. There is one other step that Microsoft can make to achieve total integration and that’s where Skype comes in the picture. I wonder if Microsoft, with Skype (800 million customers), is going to compete with the Telecom companies (Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile). VOIP offers the possibility of cheap or free phone calls for windows phones, tablet and PC owners and enterprise customers. The possibility of VOIP calls is integrated in W8 test versions. Will Microsoft-Skype bypass Telecom companies in the future with VOIP in W8 (PC and tablets) and windows phones?? Is this even possible???? I believe so. This will or may ultimately bring down prices of WP and W8 tablets by taking Telecom companies out of the equation. You won”t even have to sell your products through Telco’s anymore. Total integration, that’s the key. I do not think that it’s a coincidence that Google has experimented with VOIP in Spain and that they are developing fast internet. They understand where Microsoft is heading. Maybe Microsoft is waiting or developing an innovative VOIP technology first, making it easier and even cheaper to make VOIP phone calls. If the enterprise world goes for this technology in W8 and WP’s, it won’t be long before Microsoft introduces this to consumers.
