Gartner recently posted a report about what will be the future of the tablet market post the release of Windows 8.According to them by the end of this year there will be a whopping 119 million tablets sold for the year 2012 which is 98 percent of last years tablet sells.
iOS is expected to hold its number one position with 61 percent of marketshare while android will take the second spot with approximately 32 percent marketshare and he new entrant Windows 8 tablet would get approximately 4 percnt of marketshare by the end of its first quarter(end of 2012) and by the year 2016 Windows 8 tablet marketshare would reach approximatelt to a 12 percent marketshare.The IT departments would favor the upcoming tablets based on Windows 8 platform since the familiarity with the Windows platform.
So not only the end users even the enterprise users will favor he Windows 8 tablet segment mostly because of its familiarity of the conventional windows operating systems as well as for the highly optimized Metro UI.
