agreed! what about the NORMAL person? microsoft keeps on doing this; first they got windows XP; which was hated by windws 9x users, then Vista; which was again complicated for any XP user. and now NO START BUTTON? I agree with Ahmed below; i’ll either keep sticked with windows 7 or move to Ubantu…

Get over it. Every P.C Keyboard has the windows logo. Hit that and you still get your startbutton function.

Linux Ubonto 11.10 is the best Operating system

Your on a Microsoft Windows beta release form stating that Linux is the best platform to go to… if you like it so much then why are you wasting time looking at the “crap” that Microsoft is releasing…Seriously how much time do you have on your hands with how “great” the most complicated power user orientated platform that you can just roam around on forms and state that Linux is the best… As a Network+, A+ and Security+ technician I say that Microsoft and Apple are the only Desktop/Laptop platforms to use unless it’s for a server… Normal people who actually have a life don’t want to be able to recode and recompile the Kernel just because they can, Linux gives users too much power and should only be used as such. Microsoft and Apple have taken into account that not everyone is knowledgeable in computer software and hardware so they leave the complicated tools for ITs and let the user dictate how simple or complicated they want their system to be

Linux is faster than any windows operating system from 98 to windows 8

Linux icons is avery beautiful &  is avery easy for use
And for knowing only : I used windows in the past but one of my friends suggested LINUX UBuntu for me …………………… Ahmed one of UBUNTU users now

heh yes.. if you are lucky enough to get proper drivers that works well with the hardware. My laptop (core 2 duo P8400, 4GB of RAM, Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M – Dell Latiutude E6400), up until recently, I got ~3 hours of battery life (compared to 10h under Windows with 9-cell battery), fan always spin at high speed (due to the lost of any power saving features), and the hole experience is a slide show. Ubuntu was used. NOW it’s fixed and battery life is much better (I can’t get 10h, because Linux power system doesn’t allow (due to a lack of drivers), to cut power on internal devices like Firewire, low power state the USB ports, cut power on the optical drive, smart card reader, SD card slot), but close to 9h.What Linux needs to work on is balancing ease of use and flexibility. Linux software in general and xWindows environment are BOMBARDED with options.. where most of them are useless. They are just there, to say that there is the option to do it. It’s overcrowds things and makes it hard to use. Also there is a lot of clean up. I keep saying “FAILED, but it’s normal” when booting and closing. What’s the point? If there is no error.. don’t show it. Have a progress bar (and I don’t mean the xWindows, I mean the OS itself)Also the font rendering needs some SERIOUS works (Terminal is fine, I am talking Gnome and KDE xWindows environment to be specific).Linux is fantastic for servers, but for home desktop/laptop environment, while Linux did some MAJOR steps forward, and most in the right directions. The community has a HUMONGOUS amount of work to do, before it becomes a viable options for everyone.

Because Linux is made for programmers. If you don’t know ANSI C then you’re a subhuman piece of trash. Sorry that you’re part of the intellecual underclass.

        • Troll

If it’s for progrmmers, why would everyday users want to use Linux? Flush yourself down the toilet you stupid piece of poop

You and the other 18 Linux users can just stay in the corner and leave the grown-ups alone.

      • Poop

Yes Windows is for mature people. Look, I’m typing up this Word document. Very mature. Checking up on my facebook, also very mature.

Seriously, the dilettante piece of shit that will inherit this earth will be the end of it.

Hate that charm bar & recycle bin. The date on the screenshot shows 6-2012;) hopefully that’s accurate. First time I have seen something that I didn’t like. Bummer.

Holy crap! The charms look nice.

I really don’t mind if this won’t have the start button. It was a hassle to use in dev preview anyway and the windows button on the keyboard is what I mostly use.

I was LOLed at the Third Screenshot about reding the EULA:

Seems a sublime message, huh? haha
