Whats next.. Windows Next or Windows 8 ??

Recently there were rumors that the next version would be called Windows Next. After the breakage of news regarding the next operating system, MS stopped calling it as Windows 8 even on various job posts relating the next OS. Though a knowledge Base article posted on the Microsoft support site on 6th April 2010 clearly states that the next version of Windows is going to be called Windows 8.

Here is what the article reads -

Microsoft is aware of this as being a known issue and will correct this for the next version of Windows i.e. Windows 8.

So does this really mean that Windows 8 is much more then a codename..

    Ivo, MS doesn’t want to fix every bug in Windows 7. So they can say “Hey, consumer, you just bought Windows 7. But you have to buy Windows 8, if you don’t like this bug! Haha!” They put a CD-Bug (wrong icons) into XP SP3 and they put some bugs in Vista and Seven (just look at the MS boards) and they will never fix some of these bugs, because they wanna sell the successor!
